“Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
(Proverbs 31:31)
Mothers are amazing people who sacrifice everything to make sure their families are healthy, happy and loved. We sometimes forget to take care of ourselves and need reminders that we actually have to schedule in some “me time”. How do you like to spend your moments to yourself? Do you sometimes feel a little guilty taking that time? We need to let go of this guilt because we are so essential in taking care of the people around us physically and emotionally so we need to be healthy first. Mother’s day is coming up and I am so happy to be healthy during this uncertain time and have my people around me. I am incredibly sad I can’t spend it with my mom who is 87 in Houston. I am thankful for the conversations I have with her and know that I will see her soon.
I think back to all the years of tea parties with my girls and chocolate milk sessions with my son and his sock monkey and am so thankful for those sweet memories. I feel like lately during this Pandemic we have been reminiscing more and more each day around the dinner table. My kiddos have some great stories and I can see how their relationships are strengthening too, even though there are days they would like to dis own each other. The good thing is they move on and forgive..thank goodness! I feel like I have definitely taught my kids the value of connection, forgiveness and resiliency. They tend to bounce back from hardship in a graceful way with learning along the way. They are way more faithful and connected to God than I was at their age. I used to go to FCA in college to meet boys…seriously! My girls openly have discussions with me about God’s plan for them and for that I am thankful.
In the meantime I am going to make some special homemade scrubs to give to special mommas all around me so they can take a few moments of self care too! Recipe on the newsletter.
With Mothers’ Day coming up it reminded me to post a photo session of some kiddos and their amazing momma!
Poinsett Family Photo Session Love:
I love this picture of my friend Hawley and her sweet daughter Grace. She is one amazingly spiritual and beautiful mother whom I am so blessed to know. This was a sweet family session months ago that I have failed to post but it is a perfect occasion now to showcase the love of her sweet family.
